Kewford Football Tournament 2017

Over 200 teams played in the annual Kewford Eagles Football Tournament at Eagle Park in Swindon Road, Wall Heath - one of the biggest in the Midlands.

Played over the weekend of 8 and 9 July 2017 in glorious sunshine thousands of children of all ages enjoyed a fantastic weekend of football bringing families and communities together.

The Mayor and Mayoress of Dudley, Councillor Dave Tyler and Barbara Tyler attended the Tournament on the Saturday and presented the trophies and medals to the winners and runners up.

Brett Woodall, Charity Trustee and Tournament Organiser, said “This was one of the best tournaments we have held with over 200 teams playing in the tournament and we were honoured that the Mayor and Mayoress were able to join us on Saturday. I am very proud of all the volunteers in our Club who worked so hard to make this tournament such a success.”

Phil Hulme, Volunteer Sponsorship Manager at the Club said “Tournaments like this are so vital for grassroots football and we are extremely grateful to all our sponsors, Colmore Tang, Tax Assist, A Plan Insurance and Wondrous, without whom we would not be able to put on such a fantastic tournament for all the children.”

Lynn Boleyn MBE, Charity Trustee, added “It was so fantastic to see so many children with their families thoroughly enjoying themselves in the wonderful sunshine.  Kewford Eagles will be celebrating its 40th anniversary next year and we are so proud to have achieved what we have so far at Eagle Park.  Looking forward to the next 40 years we have ambitious plans for a club house and a 3G football pitch with floodlights for the future generations of children in our community”.
